Abu Dhabi: South Africa's Retief Goosen won the professionals' round of the Emirates Airline Invitational, hosted by Abdullah Al Naboudah at the 7414 yard par 72 Yas Links Golf Course yesterday with a score of eight-under par 64.
Goosen finished ahead of Frenchman Thomas Levet and Sweden's Henrik Stenson, both tied on six under par 66, but a countback decided second and third.
Geesen got $150,000, while second and third took home $62.500 apiece.
In the team event, Ross McGowan and cricketer Michael Vaughan pipped Pablo Larrazabal and Dhruv Nair to the honours. Bradley Dredge and Kevin Lecocq came third.
McGowan and Vaughan scored a 12 under 60 while Larrazabal and Nair scored 61 11 under. Dredge and Lecocq scored eight under par 64. Host Abdullah Al Naboudah finished 37th in the team event with Lee Westwood at four under par 68.
