Fredriksson retains club championship at Faldo and Majlis courses

Dubai: Pontus Fredriksson defended his club championship with an impressive 144 tally, one under par, over the Faldo and Majlis courses.

Fredriksson signed for a gross 71 in round one over the Faldo course including an opening burst that signalled his intent to the rest of the 70-strong field.

He reeled off a trio of threes: a birdie, par, and eagle start to his title defence. He dropped shots on the 4th and 9th but a further birdie on the 5th saw him out in 35. His back nine continued in the same vane, birdies on the 11th and 13th helped him complete the back nine in 36 strokes to result in his 2-under par tally of 71.
