Fickle weather on the cards for final round

Dubai: The meteorologist does not have too much of good news for the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to rise to a maximum of 28 degrees with continued showers and thunder today.

Though it will be partly cloudy on the final day of the golf on Sunday, golfers making the cut may still have to put up with lingering showers on the penultimate day on Saturday.

Incidentally, the prediction for yesterday was rain and thunderstorm with temperatures reaching a high of 25 degrees.

If you have an inkling of interest or curiosity in golf, then the Emirates Golf Club is the best place to be to pick up the rudiments of the sport.

Some of the top teaching professionals on the UAE golfing scene will be offering free lessons during the course of the Dubai Desert Classic this week. The 15-minute complimentary golf clinics will be held on all four days of the event.

Demanding course

The Majlis Course has received compliments from the European Tour's senior tournament director Mike Stewart. "The course is demanding, but fair. There is danger aplenty, but the course is demanding, yet fair," Stewart said.
