Dubai: East Team, captained by club captain Adel Zarouni, won the fourth annual Creek Cup golf event at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club Course on Friday. Sixty competitors were split into two teams from East and West of Dubai for a truly international showdown.
The 10 highest points scores were added up to decide the winning team.
The East earned a grand total of 362 stableford points.
The contributing 10 players were Rishad Lakdawala (42), Ashok Galgotia (41), Joy Lirio (37), Jai Bhalla (37), Naresh Handa (36), Rayhan Thomas (36), Ashok Kumar (35), Viney Mehra (33), Arshad Waheed (33) and Naema Maya with 32 points by the better back nine.
The West team was only 13 points adrift and well and truly beaten for the fourth year in a row into runners up spot. The best individual prize of the day went to Rishad Lakdawala with his haul of 42 points. Runner-up was Ashok Galgotia with 41 points and in third place with 40 points was Trish Shaw. Other prize winners were Stuart Deeson and Aditya Judge with nearest the pin and long drive.
