Dubai Ladies Masters: Glamour Girls
Three of the world's top golfers, renowned for their modelling off the course as much as their skill on it, will add a huge helping of glamour to the Dubai Ladies Masters when it tees off on December.
Cover girls Natalie Gulbis, Sophie Sandolo and Anna Rawson have all confirmed they will be play in the season-ending Ladies European Tour showpiece at Emirates Golf Club from December 11 to 16.
Gulbis, a 24-year old blonde Californian, likened to Anna Kournikova by her critics, has earned millions of dollars from magazine shoots and endorsements. But the similarity ends there as, unlike Kournikova, she is a tournament winner – at the Evian Masters this year.
Gulbis, who is now looking forward to her maiden trip to Dubai, said: "I have heard a lot about the city from fellow professionals who talk highly of it.
"It will be fun to play in Dubai and take in the entire week of festivities."
Meanwhile Italian Sandolo, renowned for her annual topless calendars, and Australian Rawson, will be back for another crack at the Masters after playing in the inaugural "golf in DUBAI"-organised event last year.
Rawson said: "There is nothing wrong with ‘old-school' golf. It's cool – but we have to move with the times.
"I love fashion, I like to dress well, the glamour isn't the only thing that I want to bring to women's golf. Me, personally, I would like to win lots of tournaments," added Rawson. "I approach golf as a job, and conduct myself with a professional attitude at all times. Golf courses are spectacular offices and I remind myself of that every day," said Rawson.
