Dubai: Dubai Duty Free (DDF) has signed a new contract with Golf in Dubai, reaffirming its role as a patron of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic for a further three years.
The award-winning airport retailer’s new deal, which is effective this year, takes on special significance as it coincides with DDF celebrating its 30th anniversary and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic its 25th.
While DDF is now synonymous with its own ATP and WTA tournaments at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, the company has also been a key supporter of all major sporting events in the Emirate, including the world-famous Dubai World Cup and the Dubai Rugby 7s. DDF is also a corporate patron of the Emirates Golf Federation and sponsors the Dubai Duty Free UAE Nationals Cup, Dubai Duty Free Golf Cup and the Dubai Duty Free Seniors Cup.
“We are delighted to continue our association with Golf in Dubai, the promoters and organisers of world-class events like the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, which have been a catalyst for putting the city on the world sporting map and promoting the game across the region,” said Colm McLoughlin, DDF’s Executive Vice Chairman.

Sporting capital
The 25th edition of the Dubai Desert Classic boasts a stellar line-up led by world number one Tiger Woods, European number one Henrik Stenson and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.
