Casey hopes to recapture his 2007 winning ways
Abu Dhabi: Paul Casey promised to correct his "mistake" of concentrating on the Majors which has left him win less ever since he held the Falcon Trophy in January 2007 after winning the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship here.
"I think I have put a lot emphasis on the Majors over the last two years. That has shown in some respects in the results I've achieved in the Majors. I have been so focused on those that maybe the other tournaments I played in suffered slightly," said Casey, whose best was a tied third place in the BMW International Open that was won by Martin Kaymer, who starts as defending champion here in the 2009 edition of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship starting today.
"Maybe I just wasn't quite up for it and prepared for those events and that clearly was a mistake," said Casey while trying to explain why there has been no win since January, 2007.
However, the Englishman warned that he was ready and looking forward to 2009. "I'm trying to prepare equally hard for every single event I play in now," he said.
"I'm very much looking forward to 2009. I feel like I've prepared well," he said adding that he'd like to get back to his winning ways here in Abu Dhabi .
