Dubai: Sharjah Club signed a deal with Dutch coach Gerard van der Lem to become the senior team coach for the coming 2007-2008 season, replacing Emirati coach Juma Rabea who decided to return to work with the FA as youth team coach.

The signing was announced in a press conference held yesterday at the Sharjah club premises. It was attended by Khalid Al Medffa club secretary general and Abdul Aziz Mohammad the new team manager. Van der Lem said in the press conference that he knows Sharjah as a championships club and he will do his best to return the club to the championship's track.

"I will work hard with all Sharjah club family (players, board, administrators and supporters) to win titles.

"I do not like to give promises, but I will do my best to help the club return its past glory as titles winner," said Van der Lem in the press conference.
