Redknapp to return after heart surgery

Last updated:

London: Harry Redknapp will return to work tomorrow, 17 days after having heart surgery.

The Tottenham boss has been recuperating at home since the operation on November 4.

Sportsmail exclusively revealed on Tuesday that Redknapp would make his return to the dug-out for Monday's Barclays Premier League clash against Aston Villa and the 64-year-old is expected to attend tomorrow's final training session ahead of the visit of Alex McLeish's side.

Redknapp has consulted with assistants Joe Jordan and Kevin Bond over his decision to return. Doctors had advised him to stay away until mid-December.

Meanwhile, Jordan has warned Barcelona that Tottenham will not be bullied into selling Gareth Bale.

The Wales international is a target for the European champions and Bale said: "It's always nice being linked with clubs such as Barcelona. The Champions League is obviously where I want to be playing."

But, having resisted Chelsea's attempts to sign Luka Modric in the summer, Jordan has warned Barcelona that they will fight to keep Bale.

He said: "The stance we took in the summer with Luka was that we wouldn't be forced into selling players."
