Cristianinho steps into the spotlight as proud dad beams with joy over debut performance
Dubai: When your last name is Ronaldo, the spotlight is inevitable. But at just 14 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is showing he’s more than just a famous surname. His first game for Portugal’s U-15 team turned heads — and sparked interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Ronaldo Jr — affectionately known as ‘Cristianinho’ — came off the bench in Portugal’s 4-1 victory over Japan at the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Croatia. Though his time on the pitch was brief, the young winger’s talent was clear enough to attract scouts from at least ten top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Inter Milan, and Manchester United — the very club where he spent time in the academy during his father’s playing days. RB Salzburg and Hoffenheim are also keeping close tabs on the promising star.
Currently developing his skills in the youth academy at Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, Cristianinho plays the same left-wing position where his father began his journey to football greatness.
Having already experienced elite academies like Juventus and Manchester United, many believe the young winger has the tools to carve out his own path.
The proud moment was not lost on his family. Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to congratulate his son, writing: “Congratulations on your debut with @selecaoportugal, son. I’m so proud of you!” His grandmother, Maria Dolores Aveiro, was also present in the stands at Sveti Martin Na Muri, sharing her good wishes on Instagram before the match.
As Portugal’s U-15s prepare to face Greece and England in the coming games, all eyes will remain on the teenager wearing the iconic number, eager to see how far his talent and determination can take him.
For now, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has taken the first step on what could be a remarkable journey — one where he’s not just “the legend’s son,” but a star in his own right.
