The ADIB Cup semi-finals promise to excite football fans across the UAE, featuring three of the current ADNOC Pro League top four and reigning league champions Al Wasl.
ADNOC Pro League leaders Shabab Al-Ahli will face second-placed Sharjah in a thrilling final-four clash, having overcome Al Wahda and Al Nasr, respectively, in the quarter-finals. T
he first leg is set for March 18 at Sharjah Stadium, just days after the two sides battled in the AFC Champions League.
Sharjah emerged victorious in that two-legged encounter, winning on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw following 210 minutes of intense football.
The other semi-final will see Al Wasl hosting Al Jazira at the Zabeel Ground on March 17.
Despite struggling this season - sitting sixth in the league and 20 points off the top - Al Wasl remains a dangerous side. Their recent meetings with Al Jazira have been goal-filled affairs, with the last four matches between them producing a total of 17 goals.
Securing a first-leg advantage could prove crucial in both ties, with the second legs scheduled for March 22-23.
