Abu Dhabi: Ghulam Sabir and Rohan Mustafa hit centuries as Alubond Tigers eased to an 85-run victory over News Stars, their second in as many games, in the Farlin Ramadan Twenty20 Cup.

Alubond lost opener Shahid Sadique (2) in the very first over but Mustafa joined by Sabir flayed the New Stars bowling to all parts of the ground in a 195-run stand to set the platform for their team to post 220 for two at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Sabir’s 54-ball 102 was studded with a dozen fours and two hits to the maximum while Mustafa smashed 10 fours and three sixes in his 64-ball at the crease to remain 100 not out.

Manjula Guruge, the UAE international, used all his experience to bowl a super over at the death to lift New Medical Centre to a 11-run triumph over Abu Dhabi Gymkhana. The left arm medium pacer grabbed two wickets in his second spell to restrict Abu Dhabi Gymkhana to 149 for eight in reply to NMC’s 160 for seven after put into bat first.

Farhan Babar stroked 64 not out to lead Old School Boys to a resounding seven-wicket win over Royal Gymkhana. The opener’s 41-ball knock contained 11 boundaries.
