Dubai: The Indian Premier League fever has gripped India. With the 11th edition of the tournament set to begin from Saturday, cricket fans are gearing up to watch 51 days of exciting action spread over 60 matches. It is not the participating seven cities alone where the fever is at its peak but all over India and even abroad.


This league which has carved out a niche for itself as the best Twenty20 league in the world is followed around the world, especially in the Gulf countries. Almost all the world’s top cricketers have been picked by the different franchises. The eight participating teams are now busy training and also playing warm up matches to transform into a formidable winning unit. The best of cricket coaches are grooming all the teams with specialists out to strengthen each team’s every department of the game.

The event, as usual, will attract large turnout at the different venues and hence all stadiums have been spruced up to accommodate the fans. As the league will be followed on television by over 700 million people, Star India have acquired the IPL’s global broadcasting and digital rights for

$2.55 billion for a period of five years.

With the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals teams after a two-year ban, the contest is likely to be intense. This cricket extravaganza will be another treat for the millions of cricket fans around the globe.
