Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing thrill home fans with in-port victory

Abu Dhabi: Azzam, the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing boat, won the in-port race here on Friday to pick up six precious points in the Volvo Ocean Race.

Abu Dhabi team skipper Ian Walker, who had His Royal Highness Prince Andrew and Shaikh Shakboot Bin Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan on board for the hour-long race, made every mark a winning one and his boat led for most of the race to finish first in front of the home fans.

Groupama finished second almost a minute behind the winner, while Camper, Puma and overall leaders Team Telefonica finished in that order.
