The Sharjah Light Festival began on February 9. UAE residents and tourists alike visit the Emirate to see the colourful light projections on popular landmarks in Sharjah. Pal captured this colourful image of the University City Hall, in Sharjah. He said: "The patterns on the pillars of the iconic Sharjah University City Hall create a stunning view during the Sharjah Light Festival. The wonderful lights and music add to the festive environment. There is an excellent arrangement made by the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) along with an area for visitors to spend the evening with their friends and family. Every sitting area has a tree of wonderful lights from where visitors enjoy the stunning lighting show."

Al Hamriya Area Municipality Building is another attraction to visit. Pal said: "This is located at Al Hamriya, Sharjah, which is around 25km away from the heart of Sharjah city and the architectural view of this building is enhanced by the beautiful patterns made using colourful lights."

Another Gulf News reader and Dubai-based resident Firoz Khan and his wife travelled all the way from Dubai to Sharjah for the festival. Khan said: "It was a wonderful experience for me and my wife to see the Sharjah Light Festival. We were there for the first time and the weather was also very nice. It was below 18 degrees Celsius on February 12."
