Remember the South Korean Dalgona Coffee trend that went viral on social media recently? A Gulf News reader gave it a caffeine-free twist and tried to make a special Ramadan version. Fathima Farhath, 24, shared photos and her recipe for the “Rose Dalgona”.

The ingredients you need to make two glasses are, 200ml heavy whipping cream, two tablespoons of rose syrup, two cups of preferred milk.

Step 1: Whisk the cream in a bowl till it turns soft and creamy as shown in the picture.

Step 2: Add the rose syrup and whisk again till you see the cream starting to form soft peaks.

Step 3: Keep aside and in a glass, add four-five ice cubes, fill roughly half of your cup with milk. Top this with the whipped rose cream.

Garnish with slightly-ground pistachios or almonds.

Farhath prefers not to add sugar to the recipe, however, for those with a sweet tooth, it can be added in step 1. The Dubai-based engineer said: “This is a very delightful chilled drink, with a smack of rose essence, perfect for the festive mood. It also cools your body during summers and takes just a few minutes to prepare!”
