See the first snowfall in Pakistan’s beautiful Kaghan Valley

The Kaghan valley in Pakistan received a heavy snowfall which blocked the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad (MNJ) road to traffic. Kaghan, Naran, Galyat and Thandyani received the first snowfall of the season and expected to continue. Naran town received more than 2.5 feet snowfall, Kaghan up to 1.5 feet, Babusar Top about feet more than 3.5 feet, Galyat and Thandyani received up to 8 inches snow.

Yesterday, 12 tourists in three vehicles were trapped in heavy snowfall at Babusar Top those were recovered by the Kaghan Hotels Association and have reached Challas by jeep.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is trying to promote winter tourism, and this year most of the hotels of Naran, Kaghan, and Shogran are still open for tourists despite temperatures dropped to zero.

Tourists and locals, who wanted to visit Kaghan valley could go freely only up to Naran, the commercial hub of the scenic valley.

During the last 24 hours 17 tourist vehicles were trapped in Naran which were recovered by the heavy machinery of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA).

The district police have warned transporters and motorists of using Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road to cross over to the Gilgit-Baltistan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the upper parts of Kaghan valley received heavy snowfall during the last couple of days.

Naran Kaghan is famous as a tourist destination, owing to its pleasant weather in peak season every year thousands of tourists rush to explore the valley.

The Kaghan Valley is in the Mansehra District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department has planned three major tourism snow events including ice sports festivals in Swat and Chitral districts to provide better facilities to tourists and adventure sports lovers.
