‘Eternals’ (UAE cinemas): Marvel magic is back in the cinema. This new star-studded movie — which stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie — is about a race of immortal beings called the Eternals. They have superhuman powers and have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years. After the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, they are forced to reunite against an ancient enemy, the Deviants. ‘Spencer’ (UAE cinemas): Take a trip back in time this weekend and explore one of the most enigmatic people of our time. Kristen Stewart plays Princess Diana in this fictionalised account of her decision to end her marriage to Prince Charles and leave the British royal family, amid rumours of affairs and a divorce. Timothy Spall, Sean Harris and Sally Hawkins also star. Image Credit: AP

    Arcane
‘Arcane’ (Netflix): This story set in the world of the popular game ‘League of Legends’ dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. When tensions between the city-states get aggravated, families and friends are split up. Image Credit: Netflix

‘Dexter: New Blood’ (Starzplay): Everyone’s favourite TV serial killer returns to take a stab at a new storyline. Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C Hall, has started a new life for himself years after faking his own death back home in Miami. However, his urge to kill hasn’t completely gone away and he has new demons to face in the small town he has moved to. Image Credit: Starzplay

Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson in 'Red Notice'
‘Red Notice’ (Netflix): After an Interpol-issued Red Notice — the highest level warrant to capture the world’s most wanted — goes out, a top FBI profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) is on the case. However, in the course of his global pursuit he has to team up with the world’s greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) in order to catch the world’s most wanted art thief, ‘The Bishop’ (Gal Gadot). This much-anticipated Hollywood film, out on November 12, promises to be full of action and thrills making it an ideal weekend watch. Image Credit: Netflix

    Dulquer Salmaan
‘Kurup’: (UAE Cinemas): Starring Dulquer Salmaan, this is a tale of the notorious real-life fugitive and criminal Sukumara Kurup who staged his own death for insurance money. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, this film will re-unite Duqluer with his director-friend who launched him with the gangster flick ‘Second Show’. Their collaboration is always intriguing and it will be interesting to see if they create magic again. The film also stars Indrajith and Sobhita Dhulipala in pivotal roles. The trailer, which was showcased on the Burj Khalifa on November 10, has also quadrupled the hype around it. This film is set in the 1980s and seems to have re-created that era with admirable flair. If you are in the mood for watching a film about a flamboyant criminal with expensive tastes, then make a run towards this film. Image Credit: Supplied

‘Jai Bhim’ (Amazon Prime Prime): Here’s a stirring film that touches upon a sensitive topic such as caste violence with a deft hand. It’s a searing portrait of the systemic injustice towards India’s tribals and how they have been marginalised for decades. Set in the mid-1990s, it’s a powerful commentary about social injustices and how change can be brought about with sturdy minds and souls. The movie stars the always-dependable talent Suriya. ‘You’ (Neftlix): If you are in the mood to watch a sinister and wicked relationship thriller, then Joe from ‘You’ will have you hooked. His idea of love and intimacy is downright problematic and disturbing, but it makes for an engaging watch. There are three seasons to delve into, but the twists and macabre turns keeps it going. Starring Penn Badgley in top form, take a stab at it if you love dysfunctional relationships. There’s no happily-ever-after here. Image Credit: Netflix

    Suits-season4-1569570355000
‘Suits’ (Netflix): This legal series running for nine seasons has been around for some time but it doesn’t lose its edge primarily due to the principal cast. Actors Gabriel Macht, Patrick J Adams, Meghan Markle, Rick Hoffman, Sara Rafferty, and Gina Torres are sharp just like their power-suits. If you are keen to see a legal office with good-looking lawyers adding to the drama, then give ‘Suits’ a shot. Image Credit: Supplied

    Annaatthe 5-1636191851870
‘Annaatthe’ (UAE cinemas): Now in its second week in UAE cinemas, ‘Annathe’ starring Rajinikanth as a protective brother is a must-watch. The iconic superstar is back in form here in this rural drama. Rajinikanth plays Kaalaiyan, a beloved patriarch of a village, who will go to any lengths to protect his sister from all evils. It’s a typical good vs evil drama, but Rajinikanth breathes life into an oft-narrated tale and template. Image Credit: Supplied
