Rajiv Kapoor’s funeral on February 9 was attended by Bollywood stars, both old and young. Actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Tara Sutaria and Chunky Panday expressed their condolences by visiting Rajiv Kapoor’s family at his residence in Mumbai. It was a grim day for all those in the Kapoor household as they sought to grapple with the latest death in their acting dynasty. Kapoor, 58, died after suffering a massive cardiac arrest on February 9.

1. Rajiv Kapoor’s nephew and actor Ranbir Kapoor was seen performing the last rites at a crematorium in the Mumbai suburb of Chembur. He was spotted leading the funeral procession along with his cousins Armaan Jain and Aadar Jain.

2. Rajiv Kapoor’s brother, Randhir Kapoor, looked visibly broken as he stepped out of the hospital in Mumbai where his brother was admitted. Last year, his other sibling Rishi Kapoor died after succumbing to a battle with cancer. Randhir was spotted wearing a mask.

3. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was one of the biggest names that came forward to express his sadness at Rajiv Kapoor’s demise. The actor was seen sporting a beanie cap, exchanging greetings with industrialist Anil Ambani.

4. Rajiv Kapoor’s famous nieces Karisma Kapoor (pictured) and her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is heavily pregnant and due next week, also came forward to pay their respects. They were accompanied by their mother and actress Babita.

5. Both Alia Bhatt (pictured) and Tara Sutaria, who are dating Ranbir Kapoor and Aadar Jain, also turned up to pay their last respects. According to a report, Bhatt, who was vacationing in Maldives with her sister Shaheen Bhatt and friends Anushka and Akansha Ranjan, returned swiftly to be with Kapoor.

6. Rajiv Kapoor’s friends such as Sanjay Kapoor and his wife Maheep Kapoor paid tribute to the late actor by posting a string of pictures of them together enjoying each other’s company. Going by the feel-good images posted by Maheep, it is clear that Rajiv, Sanjay and Maheep hung out as friends a lot and enjoyed a great camaraderie.

Actress Neetu Kapoor, in a statement on her Instagram account, revealed that there won’t be any Chautha/funeral meet for Rajiv Kapoor. “Due to the current pandemic circumstances, there will be no Chautha held for the late Mr Rajiv Kapoor for safety reasons … May his soul rest in peace,” said Kapoor in her statement issued on behalf of the Kapoor clan.
