Priyanka Chopra Jonas made a surprise entry into Mumbai during the early hours of February 22. It was only later that night, as she stepped on to the ramp of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, the reason for her arrival was clear.

“It’s only apt on a night like this in the presence of so many luminaries from the Indian fashion industry that we remember Wendell Rodricks. He was a pioneer. He was a visionary of Indian fashion and he will always and forever be missed,” Chopra Jonas said at the event.

The fashion event, which concluded on February 22, featured designs by 14 fashion industry stalwarts, including the likes of Manish Malhotra, JJ Valaya, Raghuvendra Rathore, Anju Modi, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and Ashish Soni, among others.

On the work front, Chopra Jonas is set to play the role of ‘Ma Anand Sheela’ in the upcoming Amazon Studios film ‘Sheela’, which will be directed by Barry Levinson. Chopra will be playing the titular character, who was a spiritual adviser and the primary perpetrator of the 1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack in Oregon, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Sheela, who got back into spotlight after the Netflix documentary series ‘Wild Wild Country’, was the personal secretary of Shree Rajneesh from 1981-1985 and managed the Rajneeshpuram ashram in Wasco County, Oregon.
