After school, she went off to London, where she earned a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School. She also worked as an investment banker in London.

So what would drive a banker into show business? Well, in 2009, during the financial downturn she found herself working in Mumbai as a PR person. Here, she came across Rani Mukherji who reportedly told her that she’d be good in front of the camera.

Chopra revealed on Neha Dhupia's talk show that the conversation took place on a day she was to be Mukerji's personal assistant. "I was her PA just for one day. It was the best day of my life! Because she was my favourite and she was going to my favourite reality show Bigg Boss and in fact, I got to spend 1.5 hours driving to Khandala with her. She told me that you know, you have it in you to become an actress. You should become an actress. I was like wow, Rani Mukherjee, my idol is saying this to me," Chopra had said.
