After attaining the ‘real-life hero’ tag from netizens for his social initiatives during the COVID-19 lockdown, Sonu Sood took his endeavours a step further by launching formal platforms for humanitarian causes. The actor launched the Sonuism.org'(Scholarship Offered to Needy and Underprivileged Indian Medical Students Abroad.') platform for medical education aspirants to study at a foreign university, urging students to make India a ‘healthy nation.’ The Dabangg star wrote that he hoped every child who aspired to be a doctor could fulfill that ambition. Sonu has tied up with ISM Edutech for the venture, and medical institutes in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Tajikistan are likely to be a part of the initiative. Sood offered scholarships worth over Rs 5 lakh to study engineering courses in Punjab.

Rahul Roy, who shot to popularity in the 1990s, was shooting in Kargil for a project when he suffered the brain stroke. He was then rushed from Kargil to Srinagar and then to Mumbai where he is presently undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital, according to media reports. The 52-year-old actor is in the ICU, and is reportedly responding well to the treatment. He was shooting for film "LAC: Live The Battle" at Kargil. It is being believed that the extreme weather conditions caused the stroke. Rahul shot to fame with the Mahesh Bhatt-directed "Aashiqui" at the age of 22. After laying low for some time, the actor joined the first season of the popular TV reality show "Bigg Boss" in 2006, and emerged as the winner.
