Sara Ali Khan: The ‘Simmba’ star took to Instagram and gave her nod to Mother Earth by sharing a collage of pictures against the background of nature. From riding a camel in a desert in Rajasthan to gazing at tigers in a forest reserve, the actress seems to be revelling in nature’s bounty. On Instagram, ahead of Earth Day, she wrote a poem where she extolled her appreciation for Mother Earth. “Happy Earth About Mother Nature what to say. Snowflakes in December, Jungles in May. On the beach, where the hair can sway,” it goes.

Shilpa Shetty: From posting throwback pictures of her plucking fruits from her garden and sharing her gratitude towards mother nature’s ‘bountiful ways’, Shetty has urged everyone to give bak to nature and respect it. Staying home during coronavirus pandemic has made her appreciate nature even more. She has also documented her success with organic farming in her back garden. “Mother Nature never fails to amaze me. Today, I am grateful for the fresh producer and for nature’s many blessings,” she said in a post, as she plucked brinjals and chillies with her young son. “One of the greater joys of life is to see your efforts coming to fruition in this circle of life; whether it is about starting a new venture, seeing your child grow up or just the plants you nurture bearing vegetables and fruits for you to enjoy,” she added.

Jackie Shroff: “The earth does not belong to us. We belong to the earth,” reminded Jackie Shroff on his Instagram account as he posted a picture of a child kissing a globe and wishing it ‘get well soon’. He has also been an advocate of ‘plant a tree’ campaign and has nurtured the #PedLagao [plant a tree] campaign, urging his fans to take to farming in small ways and nominate three other friends to join their tree-planting effort. His Instagram account is also filled with this go-green initiative.

Twinkle Khanna: The author and former actress has discovered a love for gardening and she’s letting the world know about it. “What you show, you shall reap and I planted a love for gardening in the hearts of my children. This is my harvest-their help in digging, watering and this large bowl of Ceylon Palak. It grows like a week and is easily propagated by planting the stem back after taking out the leaves … It’s a gift that keeps giving,” said Khanna, posting a pic of her bowl of spinach leaves from her garden.
