Actor Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to share a picture from her annual day function when she was in class one in school and extended gratitude to all her teachers. "This picture is from annual day in class 1st I think, we performed pahadi Natti and got gifts from our teachers, so many great teachers have added to my life directly or indirectly, my heartfelt gratitude to everyone #HappyTeachersDay2020," she tweeted.

'Gangs of Wasseypur' actor Manoj Bajpayee also took to the microblogging website and said, "I bow down in front of all my teachers who taught me not only the words numbers and books but also gave a wisdom to love each and every human and the Mother Earth!! happy teachers day."

Actor Sonu Sood, on the other hand, dedicated the day to his first teacher in life - his mother and posted her picture on Twitter. "Tere hi dikhaye raaste pe nikala hu maa. Manzil door hai lekin milegi zaroor. Happy teacher's day my teacher," tweeted Sood.

'3 Idiots' actor R Madhavan also remembered the "extraordinary and selfless" contributions of teachers in his life. "Wish you all a very HAPPY TEACHERS DAY. I am what I am today, only because of the extraordinary and selfless teachers I've had the privilege of being blessed with. I am ever grateful for their presence in my life," he tweeted.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra extended gratitude to all her educators with a special mention for her "favourite Physics teacher." "How does one thank a person who has helped shape their life? Words truly can never do justice to express gratitude for the role teachers play in our lives," she wrote. "But, I will still want to take this opportunity and thank all my gurus, luckily have a photo with her when I visited my school recently, and she was still there," she added. The 45-year-old actor then went on to heap praises on her former Physics teacher for her "positive energy." "My favourite Physics teacher (didn't like the subject so much) Radha Miss, always had this joie de vivre, positive energy and a huge smile when she entered the class... Nothing has changed. Maybe, I learnt to smile like that from her. She never held back her happiness, " she wrote.

Manushi Chhillar. the beauty queen-turned, said: "One of my most special teachers from school was Ms Bose. She used to teach us Indian dance and music in junior school. I moved to Delhi when I was seven and in second class, and it was she who ingrained the love for the stage in me. From a very young age she would take me in her programs," Manushi said. "She was among the strictest teachers I had but I loved her dearly because through her strictness I learnt about performance discipline, and I understood that when you enjoy performing and like the stage, there is a lot of practice and self-discipline to go with it," she said.
