First up we’ve got the Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The duo fell in love while working on the sets of Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela and thereafter hinted at their blossoming relationship without confirming anything. Six years and a few amazing projects together – including 2015’s award-winning ‘Bajirao Mastani’ – the couple tied the knot in a destination wedding. After their nuptials in November 2018, in Lake Como, Italy, however, the stars showed Bollywood how to really celebrate a wedding – cue many, many parties, receptions and fabulous wardrobe changes. #couplegoals

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are a couple descended from celeb-filled families. Alia is the daughter of the director Mahesh Bhatt while Ranbir is legendary actor Rishi Kapoor’s son. (Incidentally, Ranbir’s dad fell in love with his mum on a movie set too – more on that later.) The young couple were perhaps destined to keep running into each other – the first time that Alia saw Rabir, she told a media house in an interview was when she was 11 and auditioning for the movie ‘Black’. The couple officially began dating however in 2018. Now rumors abound of an impending wedding – good luck to them both.

They’ve been together for two decades, but for Kajol and Ajay Devgan, this hasn’t meant no hiccups. The duo met on the sets of the 1995 film ‘Hulchul’ – at which point they did not sense any chemistry. Their personalities – Kajol being effervescent; Ajay being quiet – were at odds. But work together for the duration of a whole movie, and better communication will arise – or so it was for these two. They grew together and fond of each other, marrying eventually in 1999. Today, the couple has two children - daughter Nyasa and son Yug – and a fame-filled career.

It’s a fairy-tale-like story, this one. Beauty queen and heir to the Bachchan family empire fall in love while making a movie. (The movie in question, some say, is ‘Guru’). Cue the violins and the wedding bells. Some reports say a previous brush on the sets of the 2005 film ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ was what intrigued both of them. Whatever the moment – it’s clearly worked out; they’ve been married since 2007 and have a beautiful daughter, Aaradhya, together.

Like son, like dad? Just as Ranbir Kapoor seems to have met his match while working, so it was years ago, when Rishi Kapoor and then Neetu Singh met. While their friendship blossomed, the couple admits, Neetu was friend zoned by Rishi. That is until after their 1976 film Kabhi Kabhi, when Rishi went abroad for another shoot and found himself miserable without her. However, while this realization brought them closer, it did nothing to abate the commitment issues the actor suffered from. It took about five years of dating before they decided to make it wedding official.

Bollywood royalty Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan met on the sets of 1971 movie Guddi. In an interview later, she said, "I was introduced to him on the sets of Guddi. I was impressed by him and somewhat in awe as he was Harivanshrai Bachchan's son. I fell in love with him very soon." It apparently took a little longer for him to commit – perhaps partly because she was by this time already a famous actress and he was a struggling newcomer. Things came to a head, revealed Amitabh on his blog years later, when they were planning a trip to London to celebrate the success of his film, Zanjeer, three years later. "My father came down heavily on me - 'If you are planning a holiday with this girl, you will have to marry her and go, else your decision is denied.' I was an obedient child! I got married the very next day in a quickly organized wedding with family and some dear friends, without any fanfare, and left for the holiday that very night," he wrote. They couple went on to raise 2 children, Sweta Bachchan-Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan.
