Wrapping the year 2019 with a proverbial bang, Khurrana won the Best Actor award (male) for his brilliant turn as an upright cop in rape-investigative drama Article 15 and for his comic role as a prematurely balding man in ‘Bala’.

Singh rapped his way into everyone’s hearts with his compelling performance in director Megha Gulzar’s ‘Gully Boy’ and took home the Best Actor (popular choice) award. Singh, who turned up on the red carpet in his flashy suit and sunglasses, also won the Entertainer Of The Year award. He lived up to his entertainer title as he danced along with Sara Ali Khan on their hit song Aankh Maarey. Singh took to his social media account to express his excitement at the win. “Gosh! Double Whammy! ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ for #GullyBoy & ‘Entertainer of the Year’ at the #StarScreenAwards,” posted a beaming Singh on his Instagram.

Veteran actor Prem Chopra, known for his iconic villainous roles, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The red carpet was also filled with drama and action. Ranveer Singh planting a brotherly kiss on Shahid Kapoor, his co-star from Padmaavat, was an effective way to put an end to those rumours that they shared cold vibes. The video of Chaturvedi picking up Singh playfully on the red carpet is also doing the rounds. As far as performances on the stage goes, it was Bollywood hearthrob Hrithik Roshan who set the audience on fire with his dance moves. His blockbuster ‘War’ won multiple awards including Best Choreography and Best Action.
