Wrapping the year 2019 with a proverbial bang, Khurrana won the Best Actor award (male) for his brilliant turn as an upright cop in rape-investigative drama Article 15 and for his comic role as a prematurely balding man in ‘Bala’.

Singh rapped his way into everyone’s hearts with his compelling performance in director Megha Gulzar’s ‘Gully Boy’ and took home the Best Actor (popular choice) award. Singh, who turned up on the red carpet in his flashy suit and sunglasses, also won the Entertainer Of The Year award. He lived up to his entertainer title as he danced along with Sara Ali Khan on their hit song Aankh Maarey. Singh took to his social media account to express his excitement at the win. “Gosh! Double Whammy! ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ for #GullyBoy & ‘Entertainer of the Year’ at the #StarScreenAwards,” posted a beaming Singh on his Instagram.

Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, who played a pivotal role in Gully Boy as an aspiring rapper, won the Best Promising Newcomer trophy. ‘Gully Boy’, which is India’s entry into the Oscars, took home 11 awards during the star-studded night.
