Sneak peek inside Kangana Ranaut’s swanky new space in Mumbai

It’s no secret that actress Kangana Ranaut considers her 2019 warrior princess period saga ‘Manikarnika’ as one of her career-defining films and seems to be intolerant towards any negative press about the film. So it’s no surprise that her production house, which will serve as her work space, is a nod to her period film. Here are six things to know about her new work zone, designed by Shabnam Gupta...

Her new workspace is located in Mumbai's Pali Hill and the actress has worked on creating this personalised work studio for the last 10 years. Cottage chic furniture along with large windows and pendant lamps stud the office area. According to Ranaut in an interview with Elle Decor, she wanted to create a zen space and her designer understood her aesthetics and mood.

According to sources, the total cost of this dream studio is approximately Rs480 million. She also re-build the place from scratch. The building was stripped down to bare bones and windows were created on its West side to allow light to filter in.

Ranaut, who has acted in films including ‘Queen’, ‘Simran’ and ‘Woh Lamhe’, wanted her work space to be eclectic with strong European influences. She was partial to handwoven fabrics.

Ranaut had her studio’s furniture customised and handmade. They opted for a gender-neutral colour palatte for the walls. Her designer was particular that they stay away from cliche-ridden accents such as posters on the walls.

Ranaut is intent on promoting a plastic-free sustainable enviroment friendly office culture. “Lately, I have been aware of the ecological footprints that we leave behind in this world. The office is going to be 100 per cent plastic free,” said Ranaut in an interview with Elle Decor.

Apart from this space in Mumbai, the actress also owns an entire floor in a plush building in Mumbai and a mountain house in Manali.
