Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor’s new home boasts a pool, nursery and more

The New Year is bringing good tidings for Bollywood celebrity couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who are awaiting the arrival of their baby.

The couple are now ready to move into their new home, which includes a library, a swimming pool and a nursery for the new arrival. Details of this palatial new abode were revealed by designer Darshini Shah in a recent interview, who is spearheading the work in their new home.

Shah was also instrumental in doing up their current home and Khan’s ancestral property, the Pataudi Palace, which features in the Amazon Prime show, ‘Tandav’.

Khan and Kapoor Khan will be moving out of their current home, Fortune Heights, which is located in the Mumbai suburb of Khar, after nearly 13 years. The actress also had a farewell of sorts at her old home with her girl gang, including Karisma Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora Ladakh.

The new apartment is reportedly spread across four floors, with Victorian architecture that will remind one of old English homes. In an interview with Times of India, Shah also mentioned a special new addition to the décor. “Saif and Kareena's new house is an extension of sorts of the old one. They had become extremely comfortable with their house in Fortune Heights; they just didn't want to move out. So, the new house, which they should be moving into shortly, has a feel of the old pad but it also meets their new set of requirements with their second baby on the way. It has a beautiful new nursery for the baby, and Taimur’s own space as he's growing up.”

The house also boasts an indoor swimming pool and terraces to take in some sunshine. “It's a lot larger than their old house; it's more spacious with beautiful terraces, a swimming pool, outdoor areas, and open spaces that have been landscaped. It has room for everyone,” Shah said.

Khan’s love for books is legendary and Shah has also confirmed, similar to their old home, there will be a library, artworks they have collected through their travels and antiques. ”Both Saif and Kareena love understated luxury and comfort. They like their spaces to feel like their travel diaries. Everything that they have at home is something they have collected over time, and it has a memory or a story attached to it. Like, they love England, they like the colonial-classic style of decor.”
