Kiara Advani-Varun Dhawan or Jacqueline Fernandez-Ranveer Singh: Meet the new on-screen couples of Bollywood

You may have hoped and wished that you’d see certain stars paired up for a movie, and this year that dream may well come true. There are a number of projects in the offing and a variety of never-seen-on-screen-together duos. Here’s what you’ve got to look forward to in the upcoming months.

While we might have to wait a tad longer to see Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan together on screen after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Inshallah’ was shelved, Salman Khan will be pairing up with Pooja Hegde for ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’. Given the fact that the actor makes almost every new co-star feel at home on the sets with his hospitality, Pooja will sure be in for a joyride.

Jhanvi Kapoor is diversifying her portfolio this year with a horror comedy called ‘RoohiAfza’. Also in the movie is Rajkummar Rao, who’s known for enigmatic performances in films including ‘Stree’.

Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan announced they’ll be working together on ‘Fighter’. While not much is known about the project, developed by Siddharth Anand, the coming together of two powerhouses promises for interesting storytelling.

Padukone also has another movie on the horizon, opposite the star Prabahas, in a multi-lingual drama. (The first schedule of the film is over; the second is to come later this year.)

Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani are part of the ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ project that centres on two married couples.

Bhatt meanwhile is probably off to do something closer to her heart – she’ll be spending a tonne of time with her boyfriend as they shoot for Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’. The movie, a fantasy, will also feature Amitabh Bachchan and Dimple Kapadia.

Sooraj Pancholi is also making a comeback three years after his ‘Hero’ came out. He stars opposite Isabelle Kaif in ‘Time to Dance’.

Meanwhile Kaif’s sister Katrina and Siddhant Chaturvedi are getting their fright on with a supernatural comedy called ‘Phoone Booth’. Ishaan Khattar’s also in part of the picture.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranveer Singh come together for ‘Cirkus’ this year, which is based on Shakespeare's ‘Comedy of Errors’.
