Kangana Ranaut to Karan Johar: Bollywood celebrates Narendra Modi’s birthday

Bollywood stars outdid themselves in celebrating Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday. Amidst a social media frenzy, Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Karan Johar and many other A-listers from the film industry took time out of their busy schedules to wish Modi on his big day. Here’s a look at the some of the greetings:

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has long been a Modi supporter, wished him on her Instagram Story along with posting a series of his photos. “May you live long Prime Minister and serve this nation for two more terms post 2024 as well,” wrote Ranaut. “May you bring Bharat [India] back to it’s glory, culture, wealth... and values.”

Following up on Ranaut, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar also took to Twitter to wish the Indian Prime Minister. “Wishing our honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi a very happy birthday. Thank you for providing us the strongest hand to hold as a country, one which guides us to newer heights with each passing day!,” he tweeted.

Actor Randeep Hooda also shared his wishes along with posting a photo of the Prime Minister. “Dear Prime Minister @narendramodi, wishing you great health and inner peace on your 71st birthday. #HappyBdayModiji.”

Veteran Indian actor and politician Hema Malini also shared a picture of Modi on her Twitter wall and sent him a sweet message: “It is the janam din [birthday] of our Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi ji who has led the country with courage of conviction even during difficult pandemic times. God give him the strength and energy to continue his selfless good work for the welfare of the nation. Let us all pray for him.”

Celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra wished PM Modi by tweeting: “Wishing our honorable Prime Minister @PMOIndia @narendramodi; a very happy birthday filled with good health and a great year.”

“Happy Birthday Honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi. You inspire millions of us,” posted actress Rakul Preet Singh on her Instagram Story.

Anupam Kher shared his birthday wishes on Instagram, along with photos of Modi. “Happy birthday Hon. prime minister Shri. @narendramodi Ji! May you have a long, healthy and blessed life. So that you can lead our country to its highest path of glory in every field. We are lucky to have a leader like you. Thank you for your selfless service to the nation. Jai Ho and Jai Hind! #HappyBirthdayPM #LongLife,” he posted.

Kher’s wife actress-politician Kirron Kher, who is currently recovering from cancer, posted a similar message in honour of the Indian Prime Minsiter.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also jumped in to write: “Happy Birthday to honourable PM Shri @narendramodi ji. May Lord Ganesh always bless you with lots of Strength, Happiness and Good Health. #HappyBdayPMModi.”

However, it was Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s message that hit home for everyone. The star, who recently received a personalized letter from the Indian PM after the death of his mother, took to his Twitter to pen an ode in Hindi in honour of Modi. “You have always loved and encouraged me with a sense of familiarity. I may not be able to write like you but with all my heart I wish you well on your birthday. Narendra Modiji, you stay healthy and happy. That is my wish for you.”
