In pictures: Bollywood star Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar get married

Bollywood actress Gauahar Khan and influencer Zaid Darbar got married in a traditional nikah in Mumbai on December 25 and later hosted a lavish reception attended by celebrities.

“Qubool Hai,” they captioned matching wedding pictures on their Instagram accounts.

Celebrities who attended the reception included filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, designer Manish Malhotra and actors Hussain Kuwajerwala and Gautam Rode, NDTV reported. Seen here are Zaid's father, Bollywood music director and composer Ismail Darbar, and film director and producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

While Gauahar wore a heavily embroidered ivory Sharara along with traditional bridal jewellery, Zaid chose a sherwani and churidar in the same colour.

The reception saw Gauahar wear deeper tones of maroon and gold, reportedly designed by Manish Malhotra, while Zaid chose a regal black and gold ensemble.

Gauahar and Zaid recently announced their wedding date on social media and kept fans updated with photographs of their preparations as well as their lockdown love story.

On Thursday, a day before the wedding, Gauahar shared photos of her mehndi ceremony.

“Mehendi ki raat aayi! Thanking my jaan, my brother @asaadzkhan for the lovely gift that I’m wearing which was given to me 4 years back! You couldn’t make it to the wedding but the love surely did! It’s so special to wear the blessings you have sent me on my big day,” she wrote on Instagram, showing her hands adorned with intricate designs.

Zaid also shared photographs clicked after the mehndi ceremony and wrote: “Writing our love story on each other’s hearts forever with the blessings of our family and friends and above all Allah.”
