Ganesh Chaturthi 2021: Bollywood stars extend wishes to fans

As the 10-day-long celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi began on Friday, several Bollywood celebrities took to social media to extend greetings on the auspicious occasion. The festivities began on September 10 and will conclude on September 21. The festivities will end with the final immersion of the Ganesha idols, called the Visarjan. The festival is celebrated with much grandeur in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat among other states. Actor Madhuri Dixit shared a video on her Instagram featuring herself offering prayers to Lord Ganesha on the sets of her dance reality show ‘Dance Deewane’.

Actor Ajay Devgn posted a throwback picture of his Lalbaug Darshan in Mumbai. He captioned the post as, “Lord Ganesha is the harbinger of all things good — peace, prosperity, progress, happiness & health. Let’s join our hands in prayer to welcome our favourite deity today. Ganpati Bappa Morya.”

Veteran actress Hema Malini also extended Ganesh Chaturthi wishes to fans and followers on Twitter. “It is that time of the year when we welcome our beloved Ganeshji into our houses, seeking his blessings which he gives in abundance. This God of understanding and knowledge stays in our houses for 10 days encouraging camaraderie & happiness in society. Ganesh Chaturthi ki hardik shubhkaamnaye,” she tweeted.

Bollywood actress Kajol posted a picture of herself on Twitter in a yellow Paithani saree, teamed up with matching jewellery. Sharing the picture, she tweeted, “Welcoming the ‘Vighnaharta’ with immense joy. #HappyGaneshChaturthi.”

In her message, actress Soha Ali Khan urged people to take care of themselves amid the pandemic. She posted: “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi ! As we think about new beginnings and try to clear obstacles from our path let us celebrate and pray in a responsible way that does not set us back. Abide by the rules, wear your masks, do not congregate in numbers larger than those allowed - and if you haven’t already done so please do get vaccinated.”

Actress Sara Ali Khan wrote on her Instagram stories: "May Lord Ganesh destroy all your worries, sorrows and tensions. I pray that Ganesh bestows us with happiness, good health, prosperity and wisdom (sic)."

Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a picture on Instagram with husband Saif Ali Khan and their son Taimur celebrating the occasion. She wrote: “Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with the loves of my life and Tim Tim’s cute little clay Ganpati. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.”

Actress Shilpa Shetty shared a picture with her two children as they sat in front of their Ganesh Chaturthi decorations at home. Shetty has been back to work and active on social media since the arrest of her husband Raj Kundra in a case related to illicit films.
