The Indian festival of lohri was marked by many of the top of Bollywood stars, who welcomed the passing of the winter solstice. However, there were those like DIljit Dosanjh (pictured) and Randeep Hooda who also paid tribute to the farmers amid the protests that have swept across India.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut marked the Punjabi folk festival by taking a trip down memory lane to recall how she celebrated lohri during her childhood in Himachal Pradesh. She posted a picture on Instagram, writing: "In Himachal we have a tradition of singing Lohri, when I was small, children made groups and sang Lohri in neighbourhoods and collected money/sweets, children in villages and joint families have much more fun than city kids in nuclear families, anyway #happylohri2021," she wrote alongside the image.

Nimrat Kaur, who has been busy with her Hollywood projects, wrote about being homesick during the festival. “Miss being home for the revarees, gajjak [traditional sweets] and the crackling sounds and warmth of the bonfire today... #HappyLohri all,” she posted.
