Bollywood: Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrates life and love on her 40th birthday with Saif Ali Khan and family

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is also known as Bebo, celebrates her 40th birthday today and the mum-to-be couldn’t be happier. Here’s a look at how she’s marking the big 4-0 milestone with family, friends and social media.

Kareena’s big sis, actor Karishma Kapoor, shared happy pictures from the bash, where family members including father, Randhir, mum ,Babita Kapoor, and Kareena’s husband, Saif Ali Khan are chilling.

Birthdays need cakes – and Kareena shares our opinion. One of the pictures shows Kareena, casually dressed in a pale green floral printed blouse, fresh faced and minus make-up, being clicked with the birthday cake. It resembles an elaborate gown with cream-coloured frills at the base. On top of it is a mini Kareena in a red dress.

While sharing her pictures, the ‘Tashan’ actor wrote: “As I enter my 40th year... I want to sit back, reflect, love, laugh, forgive, forget and most importantly pray and thank the strongest force up there for giving me the strength and thank my experiences and decisions for making me the woman I am... Some right, some wrong, some great, some not so... but still, hey BIG 40 make it BIG.”

One of the peeks into the celebration was thanks to a boomerang video that showed her posing by a bunch of grey, black and gold balloons. On the work front, Kareena will next be seen in Karan Johar’s period drama ‘Takht’ and Aamir Khan starrer, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.

Bebo is arguably one of the best dressed people in Bollywood – a reputation she cemented during her days on ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. (In the film, Bebo’s character made fashionable sequined dresses and separates).

Some of her recent eye-catching numbers include a golden sequin knee-high slit dress with a deep neckline and flared sleeves. And let’s not forget THAT brilliant Alexander Terekhov blue number.

The birthday girl received a tonne of wishes from friends and fans. In one picture, her bestie, fellow actor Amrita Arora posted a photo of them together. In it, they are seen in twin white outfits. Bebo looks stunning in white off-shoulder jumpsuit while her bestie sported a co-ordinated set. She wrote: ''Happy birthday our beebo , bebo ,bobee... Today you’re 40 and ohhh my gosh faaaaaabulous ... To turning older and wiser and us stronger together... Love you tons @kareenakapoorkhan ❤️❤️🍷🍷😘😘😍😍 #gutsssssssssss #fabat40''.

Malaika Arora wrote a heartwarming birthday note alongside a photo. In Arora's post, Kareena is seen getting a kiss on the cheek. Shewrote a short caption that read, "Beboliciousss it’s a bigggggggish fabulous at any age ... #fab40bebo.... love u", along with a hug and black-heart emoticon. Within an hour, the post managed to garner more than 90k double-taps from Arora's 11.4M Instagram followers. A section of her fans flooded the comments section with wishes and red-heart emoticons.
