Bengaluru drug case: Who is the arrested actress Ragini Dwivedi?

As Bollywood deals with an investigation into the actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death that is leading officials into a thicket of drug peddlers, Sandalwood is dealing with a crackdown on its own so-called ‘drug mafia’. One name that’s cropped up in the Kannada movie case is actress Ragini Dwivedi.

Dwivedi, whose family hails from Haryana's Rewari and was born in Bengaluru, was detained by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru for questioning in the drug case on Friday.

The actress is a formal model who has worked for Bollywood insiders such as Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Ragini was crowned the runner-up at Femina Miss India contest in 2008. She also won the Richfeel Femina Miss Beautiful Hair award at the 2009 Pantaloons Femina Miss India contest.

Dwivedi made her debut with the 2009 film Veera Madakari, but her breakout role would come two years later, in 2011 movie ‘Kempegowda’.

She went on to act in films such as Aarakshaka, Shiva and Ragini IPS.

Ragini Dwivedi has also worked in the Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu film industries.

She worked with star Mammootty in the 2012 Malayalam movie ‘Face2Face’.

Besides acting the actress loves to spend time with animals, especially dogs. She is also a foodie, known for her prowess in the kitchen.

Ragini was last seen in the 2019 Kannada film Adyaksha in America. This was her 25th film.
