All the films releasing this weekend, February 6

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (English): Margot Robbie gets her first Harley Quinn standalone film off of ‘Suicide Squad’, and she’s dealing with her break-up with the Joker in this. Like the rest of us mortals, she copes by surrounding herself with smart, sassy and adventurous women and forming her own “squad” of vigilante women. The A-list cast includes Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rosie Perez. And hey, comedian Ali Wong’s in it too!

The Room (English): Olga Kurylenko returns in this horror-thriller about a couple who discover a strange room in the isolated house they just bought. Soon, they find out that the room grants them an unlimited number of material wishes. Since Kate has had two miscarriages and they have always wanted a child, the choice was easy. But they soon find out that some wishes can have dire consequences.

Malang (Hindi): Set in Goa, this thriller begins with a shirtless guy-meets-sexy-gal-and-fall-in-love story-line. But something bad happens between Sara and Advait and our hero, still shirtless, goes on a killing spree. Hot on Advait’s heels are cops Aghase and Michael, who may or may not have the best intentions. What fun!

Jaanu (Telugu): When a photographer visits his old school, he runs into his old flame at a reuinion party. As the pair relive their memories, it becomes clear that their’s was not just a childhood infatuation. Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni star as leads.

Vaanam Kottattum (Tamil): Written and produced by acclaimed director Mani Ratnam, this family drama is about one father’s mistake which distances him from his beloved family. When he manages to reunite with them after many years, the past threatens to destroy the relationship he’s worked hard to rebuild. Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhika Sarathkumar and Vikram Prabhu R star.

Anweshanam (Malayalam): A thriller with child abuse as a premise, this film begins with seven-year-old Ashwin who is taken to the hospital by his mom and a family friend, after he claiming he fell off the stairs. But soon, the police get an anonymous call saying they should look at the incident as a potential child abuse, triggering a series of revelations.

Nahas XL (Arabic): The Emirati comedy follows Saeed, who can only be described as extremely unlucky. Although he brings trouble wherever he goes, he refuses to accept his bad luck, much to the detriment of his family and friends.

Latte & the Magic Waterstone (English, dubbed from German): Based on the best-selling book, this animated film is about animals who wake up to discover that the forest is facing drought. Latte, an energy-filled little hedgehog goes on a mission to find the magic waterstone and help bring back water to the forest. Together with the squirrel Tjum, they will find themselves on the most challenging adventure of their life.

Terra Willy: Unknown Planet (English, dubbed from French): Another animated film. Following the destruction of their ship, the young Willy is separated from his parents with whom he traveled in space. His spare capsule lands on a wild and unexplored planet. With the help of Buck, a survival robot, he will have to hold until the arrival of a rescue mission.
