Look: Dubai's Wasl Tower set to be one of the most sustainable towers in the city

Dubai: Wasl Tower is as Dubai-esque as it gets - iconic design, tall and unique. It is also one of the world's tallest buildings using ceramic fins for energy efficiency and will be one of the most sustainable buildings in the entire city.

As Dubai prepares to host the upcoming global climate summit COP 28 in the UAE, the 64-storey Wasl Tower is the epitome of what the country is hoping to achieve in terms of sustainability. Reduced energy consumption, solar-powered hot water access, reduced carbon footprint - Wasl Tower's design is indicative of a sustainable future.

A release about the tower from Dubai Media Office added that the combination of outdoor landscaping, vegetation and passive systems will translate into a comfortable outdoor microclimate.

A carefully controlled acoustical environment shelters the interior from both exterior noise intrusion and internally generated noise, while grey return water aids irrigation in landscaped areas. The tower is located on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Slated to be completed by Q3 2024, the tower will stand 302 metres tall when complete. The massive mixed-use project will span a built-up area of around 167,733 square metres and will feature apartments, offices, restaurants and a Mandarin Oriental hotel, along with a swimming pool.
