1993 - The people of Sharjah should feel proud of the history of this region because their grandfathers played a constructive role in the life of mankind through the years, His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, said at the opening of the Sharjah Museum. He said that the history of the Arab nation was written by foreigners who were sometimes not accurate while writing about the civilisation of the Arab and the Islamic nations because they were influenced by their religious and national backgrounds.
