November 25 marks International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
White Ribbon Day. It was officially established in 1999 by the United Nations to promote global awareness of violence against women and first organized by women’s rights activists in 1981.
#whiteribbonday: The White Ribbon was initiated as Australia’s campaign to prevent men’s violence against women but on social media, users from all around the world are uniting in spreading awareness.
@YESocialists: “Join our online action now, help us in ending violence.”
@RKWomensNetwork: “@RussellKennedy_ strongly support #WhiteRibbonDay - stand up, speak out and act! #StopViolenceAgainstWomen.”
