Sympathies for Syrians

The war in Syria

Syrian regime ally Russia carried out its heaviest strikes in days on Syria’s Aleppo on Tuesday, as at least five children were killed in rebel fire on a school in the war-torn country’s south.

#Syria - From pictures of dead bodies of children pulled out of rubble and videos of injured children, social media is flooded with posts emphasising the need to solve the problem in Syria.

@MSF: Reaching hospitals in besieged east #Aleppo has become a danger in itself

Mafabi Twaha Nangoli: “Looking at pictures from Aleppo dampens my heart however much I try to pretend.”

Adhan Zed: “She wanted to fetch water for her family with filled the bottles and was unable to carry it, so she stopped and stared crying. #Aleppo”

Ahsan Shahid: “It is hard to accept that we get to sleep at night peacefully while they cry all day and night. If only I could help.”

Elie Arenos: “Going to coordinate the arrival of the Children from #Syria #Aleppo and transfer them to Rhodes Island before their dispatch to family in EU countries. This operation is a join venture between the #orderofmalta and #savethechildren.”

I am awash with fear and heartache for her. And while I have seen numerous pictures of the devastation, this poor child has really hit home, she reminds me of my sweet, innocent, joyful Goddaughter and it has literally brought me to tears.
