The actual axis of evil

The horrific Israeli attack in the Lebanese town of Qana has sparked widespread rage across the world, but people in the UAE are saying that they are not surprised at the cold-blooded massacre of innocent civilians.

The incident has unveiled the terror and brutality of the so-called civilised nations that have been backing the Israeli aggression in Lebanon. Enraged by the mounting innocent killings, most people now refer to the US, Israel and UK as the actual axis of evil, saying that the trio is the greatest enemy of the human race and is pushing the world to the Dark Ages where might was right.

"Nothing whatsoever can justify the massacre in Qana and other Lebanese cities," said Mohammad Ameen, an expatriate resident in Al Ain.

"I am not surprised," said Abdullah Khamis, a businessman. "People should be ready for many more such tragedies since the egocentric states are on a killing spree," he said.

"Washington should be ashamed of its role in the conflict, instead George Bush shamelessly is claiming to be a peace broker," he said.

The role of the US has been strongly criticised and is being dubbed as the bloodthirsty country that had killed millions of innocent people all over the world just to maintain its hold on different energy resources.

"I would request the UN and the European Union to come forward and declare US and Israel as dangerous nations on earth," said Inderjit Singh, an expatriate resident.

He said the US is the only country that has dropped nuclear bombs twice on Japanese cities killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people. It has butchered millions more in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq, and is looking to open up more such fronts.

People all around the world now are also raising questions about the conscience of the American people for supporting the Bush administration.

"American people should be aware of the fact that anger breeds anger and their government cannot settle issues with the use of force," said Singh.

The Qana massacre and indiscriminate bombing of other Lebanese cities has so far proved to be counter -productive for the US and Israel. Television pictures all over the world are clearly showing that Hezbollah has been getting more support from the people who were earlier against it.

Clear demonstration

The present conflict is also a clear demonstration of US, British, and Israeli intelligence failure vis-a-vis the military supremacy. Washington has been providing satellite imagery to Tel Aviv that has failed to disrupt the rank and fold of Hezbollah. The continuous military onslaught has miserably failed in breaking the people's will to resist the designs of Washington and Tel Aviv. The situation has launched a barrage of international criticism and cracks are appearing in the US and Israeli stand.

Israel has, no doubt, eroded the US image all over the world and it looks like Israel is the real world power that has been pulling the strings of Washington. Briton and Australia have also been disgracefully playing as puppets in the hands of Tel Aviv.

Over the last 50 years or so, Washington, London, and Tel Avis have bitterly failed in cutting down the resistance to their designs. They used force and the UN Security Council as a rubber stamp in projecting wrong as right. The US and British media have also eroded their credibility in the Middle East through the biased coverage heavily tilted in favour of the US and Israel.

There is a critical need for immediate and non- conditional halt to Israeli aggression. You cannot secure peace by occupying other nations' territories and imposing military solutions on them.
