How often do we think about ourselves in a day? We often get tangled in the daily routine of life, which is mostly related to our job, spouse and children. We forget to keep aside some “me time”.

Have you ever closely watched small children playing? They seem so happy with themselves, enjoying their toys and other favourite things. But when they grow up, they’re also forcefully thrown into chaos.

I am someone who loves doing crazy things with my children. We do everything possible to make our day happy and drive people around us crazy, the victim being my husband. We watch our favourite cartoons, we sing together, fight for chocolates and lollipops, jump and roll on the bed, go out once a while, we call it the “kids day out”. Once I was enjoying a lollipop with my children when someone told me, “Stop behaving like a kid.” I was surprised. Why should we stop ourselves from enjoying the little happiness? I enjoy it, my children love it, we are having the best time together.

It really takes effort as a grown up, to be one among children. But, trust me, once we become a child, it’s truly a stress buster and will definitely bond you closer. It’s a win-win situation. Talking, listening and understanding your child is the best thing you can do for them.

There’s one more thing that we often forget when we grow up, spending time with our parents. As children we always felt safe with our parents around. A day without mum was impossible, when did we grow and learn to live without her? We being busy with our present life, and being away from our parents, how often do we talk to them? Let’s make it a habit to call or text our parents daily.

Let’s accept it, we never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public. Let’s keep the child in all of us alive.
