Helps us correct mistakes
The Roads and Transport Authority sending warning messages is a great initiative to understand where people are making mistakes and gives them a chance to understand the rules better, in the hope that they don’t repeat them. It’s truly helpful in the long term as every day, new drivers are on the road, which helps everyone to drive safe. This will enhance the pledge taken by the Dubai Police to make the city roads among the safest roads in the world, to drive on. Reading the article again made me point out that I had received a warning message earlier too while driving through a tunnel. The speed limit was 40km/h, but I was driving at 65km/h.

Know the offences
I think this is a good move. Often people get fines for small offences and paying a hefty amount for a small mistake is very frustrating. Sometimes, people don’t even know why they get certain fines. This system will help create a kind of consciousness among people. They will also know the violations they are accidently committing. I think the ideas that the government comes up with are very smart. They really look at the wellbeing of the community.

Warning offenders
I think the initiative taken up by the Dubai Police to be lenient with motorists who commit minor traffic offences during the three-day celebration of National Day and Martyr’s Day, is very commendable. Since it is a long weekend and many people would be out on the road, it is natural that minor traffic offences will occur. By overlooking these, and sending text messages to the offenders as a warning, rather than issuing fines, puts people at ease and keeps the spirit of the celebration alive while at the same time it makes people aware of their mistakes and warns them from not repeating it.

A good decision
It is a good move by the authorities. It is about time that people were treated like adults and let off with warnings instead of fines. This is likely to reduce traffic violations as motorists will improve their driving skills.

Good for families
It’s actually a good decision. If they give a discount to taxi drivers for their fines as a National Day gift it will be a great thing for their families.

It’s really a good move by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Warning people for their minor mistakes will be better than paying a huge amount as a fine. Sometimes, when we drive to new routes, we may not know the exact speed limit. It’s better to get a warning instead of paying money. The RTA can issue only black points for small mistakes.

Additional charges
I believe that the police need to put some additional charges and fines for certain offences that are not under the law such as using the car horn loudly, using high beam lights to influence others on the road, and more.
