Children want the animals

Wild animals in child movies probably have the opposite effect from promoting the conservation of a species. Children see the animals in the movies and ask their parents for one. Sometimes it’s legal to have it and sometimes it’s not, but when there’s a will, there’s a way.

Taking home the right message

The movies do sometimes give a wrong impression to children. But they are children and if it were up to them, they would want to be Batman and Superman. They would want to own Lightning McQueen. It is very important for us parents to teach children the difference between reality and fiction and what is the correct meaning to take out of it.

I do agree that the entertainment industry has become very irresponsible, but these movies are made for entertainment. Blaming them for pet ownership would be wrong. I think we humans have to show maturity and understand what is right and wrong. Sadly people don’t go against their whims and fancies. I personally don’t blame the movies. In this day and age, where many are aware of the need for wildlife conservation, it takes an oblivious mind to actually try to tame these wild creatures. Many of these movies do have a good message as well.

Intelligent and tame

I love wild animals. They are as intelligent as the tamed. Some are even less aggressive.

Parents need to explain

It depends on the guardians. As parents, they are responsible for their children’s actions. They should be around when watching movies or any film to supervise their children. It’s good to explain the good and bad things to make it clear to them that black is black and white is white.

Children are smart

I don’t think we’re giving children enough credit. Children are really smart and they know you can’t own a wild animal – and that’s what their imagination is for. Their beautiful and wild imagination.

Explain ethics

I think that children do need to hear the explanation because the movies don’t quite do it. I don’t agree with people owning parrots, for instance, because they can live up to 80 years and they often need to have numerous owners. It’s not ethical. When that movie, Polly, came out about the talking parrot, I wanted a parrot so badly. But, my mother explained to me that they will live longer than us and that they can be quite vicious. Who knew, wild jungle animals are vicious. Keep them where they belong.
