Should governments be more inclusive to all segments of a community in order to encourage equality?
Giving a voice to the people
It can seem unfair, but the deep-rooted discrimination can’t be fought based on merit. It’s not that they aren’t being chosen because they aren’t working hard enough. People need to wrap their heads around the idea that there are qualified people of all segments of a community. The benefit to making sure there is variety in appointment is the benefit of having differing opinions and representation of people who would otherwise be oppressed.

Help can lead to more inequality
I believe that there must be a slight push for the minorities to be equal in government, but in countries like India, where minorities have been privileged for so long, we see that people belonging to the backward communities are economically on a par with the other citizens. When such is the case and still there is a lot of support for the minorities, they tend to misuse this right, which leads to inequality. Shouldn’t equality prevail in democratic nations?

Need to give benefits!
All available benefits should be given to minorities. Many end up losing out to majorities, which needs to always be corrected. I find in India that minorities aren’t treated very well.

But is it fair?
In my opinion, an inclusive system means preserving the rights of minorities. But in my country, Nepal, I have been able to witness very wonderful experiences. But, is it fair when a competitor who got 80 marks in an exam fails to get a post, but another competitor who got 40 marks and who is from a minority is selected for the vacancy? One question arises here: What is the fault of the person who secured 80 per cent? Is it the fault of his identity? So, I think it is good to prioritise given the capacity development of minorities rather than being blindly inclusive.

Merit matters
It should be equal for all and be based on their experiences and qualifications.

Participation in decision making
A truly secular world is the only hope for future peace and wellbeing among people. Everyone should be equal everywhere. Let peace prevail. Let there be no superiors and inferiors in decision making.
