Delayed baggage

I flew on Jet Airways flight from Dubai to Coimbatore via Mumbai on February 19, 2014. When flying on this route the immigration formalities and baggage customs are done at Mumbai international airport and then baggage is handed to Jet Airways staff for connecting flight, which was done by me.

When I reached Coimbatore, I was informed by their staff that my baggage had been left out at Mumbai because it was handed late. Baggage was handed over to them within 20 minutes of landing from Dubai and they had 90 minutes to load it.

I left the airport furious at their attitude. Instead of saying sorry and apologising they were placing blame on the passenger.

I bought toiletries, undergarments and a shirt on my way to the hotel for the next morning meeting. No compensation was offered. When asked, they said compensation is only for Jet Privilege card members.

Would Jet Airways be kind enough to explain why they accept connecting flight bookings if they cannot handle connections and blame the passenger for their carelessness?

I would also request them to explain why compensation is only for Jet Privilege members? Are others not buying their ticket?

From Mr Yash Jaggi

Dubai

A spokesperson from Jet Airways responds:

Jet Airways guest Mr Yash Jaggi travelled on flight 9W 2645 from Dubai to Coimbatore via Mumbai with a single piece of checked in baggage. Every effort was made by Jet Airways staff to deliver the baggage at the destination on the same flight, however the bag could not be connected and got delayed due to logistic issues at the new terminal in Mumbai. The bag was subsequently delivered to the guest location convenient to him. Jet Airways has offered the guest interim compensation as per the airline policy. Jet Airways regrets any inconvenience caused to its guest.

Waiting for refund

I had booked an airline ticket for my colleague on January 9, and the travelling date was February 8. Due to the delay of leave approval, the flight ticket was cancelled on January 13. I had paid the amount through my credit card, but still I didn’t receive the refund of the ticket. I called the Air India Abu Dhabi office several times and also sent a mail, but there was no response. Every time customer care said that it is with the finance department. Kindly help me get the refund.
