Marian Mania
Marian Rivera is back with fantasy series Dyesebel
After a short respite from her record-breaking TV series, Marimar, Marian Rivera is back in the limelight with a new fantasy show that is already igniting the business with a lot of buzz. Marian is making a comeback in Dyesebel, an adaptation of a Mars Ravelo classic about a mermaid.
So is she expecting Dyesebel to be a bigger hit than Marimar? She said: “I have no expectations of that kind. We just did our best to make this show a really entertaining one for the audiences. It was very challenging, but we are excited and proud to offer it to Filipinos all over the world."
‘Wacky-romantic'
What can fans look forward to as far as her screen team-up with leading man Dingdong Dantes is concerned? “It will be totally different from what we had in Marimar. It's more of a wacky-romantic team up, people should watch out for it, especially our fans from Dubai," she quipped.
Holywood
There's too much of Hollywood going on in the Philippines lately. Apart from Yam Laranas's film The Echo nearing its release, there's also a huge Hollywood buzz in Camarines Sur, a province south of Manila, where Hollywood superstars are shooting the celebrity edition of the Survivor series. And just recently another team from the hit reality programme filmed an entire season for Survivor France. Plus last week, there was a big announcement that GMA is bringing the same series to Manila.
Top secret
Names are top secret, but we hear from among those currently going through the Survivor experience that California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mismatch star Alicia Silverstone are on the list.
Also making a bug buzz is Howie Mendel, host of the US edition of game show programme Deal or No Deal. Howie is in Manila for the world tour of the programme.
