May attacked on street

Lebanese TV star and model May Khalil was viciously attacked in Beirut. The incident happened while Khalil
was preparing to shoot a TV programme. She parked her car and walked on the street when a young man came up
to her and said: "I want to talk to you".

Khalil ignored him but he followed her and hit her with an iron object on the head. She fell on the floor,
blood covering her face and was rushed to hospital.

The star suffered from multiple injuries and recieved 15 stitches in the forehead and scalp. She was left
with prominent bruises to the neck and jaw.

Khalil, who did not lose consciousness, remembers that her aggressor was in his early 20s, was wearing a
pair of shorts and had a blonde beard.

The Lebanese model said that someone wanted to kill her but she didn't know who. She added that she was a
target, explaining that according to eyewitnesses, the young man was waiting for her.

Khalil added that she will forgive her aggressor - if she only knew why he wanted to hurt her.

No business like show business for Amal

Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi denied rumours that she will leave show business. Hijazi who got married weeks
ago to jeweller Mohammad Bassam confessed that her new husband asked her to quit showbiz but that she has
refused.

"He met me as a singer, and I'll stay a singer," she told reporters. "Maybe deep down he wishes that I stop
singing but he will never force me to do so."

Hijazi, who spent the Eid holiday with her hubby, said that she won't perform on New Year's Eve. She added
that she will sing less on stage. "I'll only choose performances that suit me," she said denying that she
has ever worked for money.
