Ramadan trunk show to showcase 30 designers

Dubai: Thirty designers from India and Pakistan will showcase their latest collections of fashion and accessories at the Ramadan Trunk Show on June 4 at the Palace Downtown.

Organised by Boulevard One, the event will feature the creations of both established and young designers.

“Although there are a number of fashion retailers in Dubai, our customers keep coming back to us because we give them unique collections which they won’t find elsewhere,” said Niti Gupta from India, who has been the driving force behind Boulevard One along with her partner Sadaf M. Khan from Pakistan.

Into its fifth year, the event is Boulevard One’s 10th fashion and lifestyle exhibition in Dubai.

“For the Ramadan Trunk Show we got requests from nearly 100 designers and after a thorough scrutiny by our team we selected the 30 crème de la crème to exhibit their work,” said Gupta, 40.

“My partner and I are personally involved in guiding our clients to pick what’s the best for them,” said Niti Gupta who holds three major fashion exhibitions in a year; Spring, Festive and Ramadan.

Fashionistas will find exclusive collections of prêt lines, jewellery and accessories. Some of the well-known names include Misha Lakhani, Karma Pink, Amishi London, Agha Noor, Mina Siddique, and Crescent.

Young Pakistani designer Agha Noor sold 240 pieces in 40 minutes in the previous exhibition in Dubai. “My sister and I work round the clock to meet the growing demands for our collections. Our stores in Pakistan have new designs every week,” said 23-year-old Noor, who has been living in Dubai for three years.

She has eight stores in Pakistan and plans to open one in Dubai soon.

Noor said she and her sister Agha Hira, 27, regularly study the market and interact with clients to learn about their choices. “Our collections cater to both the young and the old. We have something for every occasion and we give quality at an affordable price,” added Noor, who is also studying ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in Dubai.

Accessories by Amishi London will also be on display. Amishi’s clients include Princess Eugenie of York and celebrities such as Amanda Holden, Camilla Rutherford and Ellie Goulding among others.
